Pentagon Federal Credit Union is offering rates as low as 4.25% apr on new and used car loans. This rate is good for loans with terms up to 72 months on new 2007 and 2008 cars. They are also offering this rate on used car loans with terms of up to 60 months.

Field of membership in Pentagon Federal Credit Union is open to those who work at the Pentagon, are active or retired from the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, or Coast Guard, or belong to certain select companies or organizations in addition to other avenues to membership. Membership is also extended to those who join the National Military Family Association.

Central One FCU continues to offer high yield share certificates called the Senior Sense certificates. The current rates include a 4.00% APY 6-month CD, a 4.25% APY 12-month CD, a 4.50% APY 24-month CD, a 4.60% APY 36-month CD and a 4.75% APY 60-month CD. All have a minimum deposit of $10,000 and require direct deposit of Social Security or Pension into a Central One Share Draft account. The long-term standard certificate rates are also competitive with yields ranging from 4.00% APY for a 24-month term to 4.25% APY for a 60-month term. These rates are also available in an IRA.

Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in one of several towns of Massachusetts. Membership requires a minimum deposit of $5 into the regular share savings account.

Branches are located in the Massachusetts cities of Auburn, Shrewsbury, Northborough, Marlborough, Salem, Westborough and Worcester.

PrimeWay Federal Credit Union is offering a share certificate special with a yield of 4.15% APY for a 12-month term and a yield of 4.00% APY for a 6-month term. The minimum deposit is $500. It doesn’t seem to be listed at the credit union’s website. It was advertised in last week’s Houston Chronicle. The ad is available online here.

Membership is open to those who live, work, worship, go to school in the City of Houston or Washington County. Please refer to the credit union’s membership page for the full details. Membership requires a minimum deposit of $25 into the savings account.

Northrop Grumman Federal Credit Union is offering a special 4.64% APY 15-month CD and a 4.44% APY 9-month CD. The minimum deposit is $40,000. The rates are 25 basis points lower for a $1,000 minimum deposit. The same rates are available for IRA certificates.

These specials are available to NGFCU members of record prior to 2/29/2008 and NGC and Metro employees and their family members who are not current members.

For those who don’t qualify for these promotions, NGFCU continues to have some competitive rates on its regular CDs. The 12-month CD has a yield of 4.33% APY and the 48-month CD has a yield of 4.44% APY. Both require a $40,000 minimum deposit. The rates are 25 basis points lower for a $2,500 minimum deposit, and like the promo, these same rates are available in an IRA.

NGFCU has branches in several cities of California, Illinois, Maryland, Virginia, Louisiana and Florida.

Burbank City Federal Credit Union is offering 7.00% APY on a 12 month share certificate special for new members who join the credit union. The minimum/maximum deposit requirement for this special is $1,000.

Field of membership in Burbank City Federal Credit Union is extended to employees of the city of Burbank, California, certain voting members of the Friends of the Burbank Public Library and the Burbank Historical Society among others.

Austin Telco Federal Credit Union has some competitive rates on its share certificates. The jumbo CD’s have the best rates which range from 4.37% APY for a 6-month CD to 4.73% APY for a 60-month term. These require a minimum deposit of $95K. The rates for a CD with a minimum deposit of $1K range from 4.32% APY for a 6-month CD to 4.68% APY for a 60-month CD. These are also available in an IRA.

Membership is open to anyone living, working, worshiping or attending school in Austin’s five county Metropolitan Area (Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop and Caldwell Counties). Membership requires a minimum balance of $25 in your share savings account.

San Mateo Credit Union is offering 5.00% APY on a 12 month IRA share certificate special. The minimum deposit requirement is $2,000 for this special. The maximum deposit limit is $100,000. This promotional certificate must be funded with money new to the credit union.

Field of membership in San Mateo Credit Union is extended to those who are a resident, employee, or student in San Mateo County or a member of a select employee group.

AA Credit Union is offering 5.09% APY on a 60 month share certificate. The minimum deposit requirement for this certificate is $10,000. Lesser deposits beginning at $1,000 will earn 4.94% APY.

Field of membership in AA Credit Union includes current or retired employees of American Airlines and employees of a number of other transportation related organizations.

LOMTO Federal Credit Union has several high certificate rates listed in its rate table. The best rate is 5.22% APY for terms of 12 and 24 months. The longer term CDs have rates close to this: 5.12% APY for 3 and 4 year terms and 5.17% APY for the 5-year term. These are also available as an IRA certificate.

Field of membership in Fort Knox Federal Credit Union is open to those who are members of certain select employer groups or those who live, work or worship in Boyle, Breckinridge, Grayson, Hart, LaRue, Meade or Nelson Counties in Kentucky. Membership is also extended to relatives of anyone who can currently become a member.
